Im going to do a little review on adium.
Adium is a fast and free instant messaging client which supports AIM, ICQ, Jabber, MSN, Yahoo!, Google Talk, Yahoo! Japan, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, Novell Groupwise, and Lotus Sametime.

If a local copy of Adium is running an alert window allow you to quit it.

Using your data:

Adium is an open-source Instant Messaging program that works with Mac OS 10.x. It can be used with the Rutgers IM service as well as other networks such as AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and the Jabber (Rutgers IM) network at the same time. The Rutgers Office of Information Technology supports Adium only for University users.

You can copy your user preferences folder to Portable Adium when 'Copy preferences' window asks you. So, if you wish to use your conctact list, dock icons, emoticons, message stiles, plugins, scripts, sound and users you already have on your computer, just click 'Yes' when prompted.
